Tess Olivia Gillet-Kalisky grew up in a vibrant French-American household.
When she was just six years old, she made the big move from Paris to Berkeley, California. At first, she attended a French bilingual school for her first and second grades, even though her English was pretty limited. Later, her family decided to relocate to Davis, California, so she could be closer to family and get the support she needed for school.
In third grade, Tess joined an all-American school where she faced some challenges with English at first. But as time passed, she started to find her footing and embraced the language.
When seventh grade rolled around, COVID-19 brought unexpected changes, but it also helped Tess discover her love for making videos and sharing them with the world. She dove into improving her short filmmaking skills and even got to attend some amazing college-level film camps in Vermont.
Now, Tess is on an exciting journey, studying film and cinematography at California State University, Monterey Bay.
